Being a non-profit, community-oriented project, our focus is to build community through education. We have a wonderful community with diverse experiences that our students can benefit from. We are always looking for volunteers for various tasks. We believe in providing our students with a long lasting education. Volunteers are welcome in our Literary class, Art program, One-on-One Mentoring, and Interns. We are also happy to have people come do specific projects with the students to explore science, reading, math, etc., in a non-traditional way.
We are also happy to have volunteers come work with the students one-on-one. We have students with varying learning levels and it is always helpful to have someone work with the advanced students to give them a challenge as well as to help the students that may have difficulties.
Interns are also another welcomed position. Having English-speaking interns work with the students one on one helps us with the students who are learning English.
Student teachers can help bring in new styles of teaching and ideas.
Another way to support Tierras Altas Academy is through books and educative materials donations. The books can be considered as one of our main treasures because through them children can learn and make their imagination fly.
Students can also benefit from hands-on tools that allow them to learn in a more interactive way.
Tierras Altas Academy can benefit from financial support. You may ask, how will your donation be invested?
Donations will be used to offer scholarships to underprivileged children whose families simply cannot afford tuition. Your donation will open many doors for these students and their families by giving them the opportunity to receive a quality education, learn a second language, and develop the skills for future success. For every $2,800 raised from donations, one student’s education will be funded for an entire academic year including all of their books and materials.
At Tierras Altas Academy, not only do we strive to provide an extremely high-leveled education for our students, but also support the local community. Not only will your donation fund a child’s education, but set a path to success for the child and their family.
